San Martino and Solferino are located at the same distance and are full of monuments, museums and ossuaries.
In Desenzano del Garda you can visit the Villa Romana (Roman Villa) with its magnificent mosaics.
In Sirmione there are the ruins of the villa of poet Catullus (Grottoes of Catullus) on the tip of the peninsula, which can be reached with a dedicated train. But if you wish to travel a bit further, other places like Castellaro Lagusello, Valeggio sul Mincio and Peschiera del Garda also offer spectacular landscapes and impressive monuments.
The Verona Arena is the Italy’s temple of opera, one of the most renowned Roman amphitheatres in the world, hosts the world’s most important opera season. For those who enjoy opera and bel canto, a show at the Arena is a once in a lifetime must-see. Make sure not to miss it!!!
